What is the legal requirement?

What is the legal requirement?
Employers must undertake a Fire Risk Assessment. A designated member of staff responsible for Health and Safety is accountable for the servicing of fire extinguishers. Employers are also required to ensure that, where fitted, any fire protection equipment is maintained to the relevant standard. Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and records kept.

Fire Risk Assessments
Calbarrie Glasgow’s assessor is NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management trained. We supply Fire Risk Assessments in a format that is preferred by local fire authorities.

What is the legal requirement?
Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and The Regulatory Reform (Fire safety) Order 2005 England and Wales place the onus of responsibility squarely on the responsible person. This may be an employer, landlord or any person who has the extent control over the building. As of October 2006, Fire Certificates are no longer a requirement and subsequently no longer have any legal status.
